Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi said that Rs 3.5 lakh crore would be invested in the upcoming 5 years through the newly created Jal Jeevan Mission, that intends to offer piped water which has to be called as ‘Har Ghar Jal’) to every rural residence by 2024.

He informed that the move was targeted at achieving the iconic socialist dream seen by late Ram Manohar Lohia of supplying water as well as sanitation to alleviate the difficulties experienced by women.

The Task, underneath the Ministry of safe water as well as sanitation, will concentrate on combined request and supply-side water treatment at the community level, such as the development of local systems for conservation of sources such as water collection, groundwater recharging and domestic water management in irrigation.

The Jal Jeevan Mission would collaborate with other national and regional government initiatives to accomplish its goals of effective water resource management throughout the world.
