India Tears Into Shehbaz Sharif’s UN Speech: Pakistan Glorifying Terrorism Under the Guise of Lies

India rebukes Shehbaz Sharif at UN for glorifying terrorism and spreading lies
India delivers a powerful rebuttal to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s UNGA speech, calling out his false claims and terror glorification.

India delivered a sharp and scathing rebuttal to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s address at the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), condemning him for spreading falsehoods and glorifying terrorism on a global platform.

Sharif, during his UNGA speech, claimed “victory” in the recent India-Pak conflict and alleged that Indian jets were reduced to “scrap and dust” — a remark that drew strong condemnation from New Delhi.

India Exposes Pakistan’s Lies at the UN

India’s first secretary at the Permanent Mission to the UN, Petal Gahlot, dismissed Sharif’s claims with a pointed response.

“If destroyed runways and burnt-out hangars look like victory, as the Prime Minister claimed, Pakistan is welcome to enjoy it,” she said.

Gahlot accused Pakistan of distorting facts and using the UN platform to glorify terrorism, reminding the world that Pakistan had sheltered global terrorist Osama bin Laden while claiming to be a partner in the fight against terror.

“Let us recall that Pakistan sheltered Osama bin Laden for a decade and continues to operate terrorist camps,” she added.

Gahlot also rejected Sharif’s call for a “comprehensive dialogue,” stating that talks cannot resume until Pakistan dismantles its terror network and hands over wanted terrorists to India.

Sharif’s Claims on Operation Sindoor Refuted

In his UN address, Sharif presented a distorted narrative of Operation Sindoor, which India launched after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.

He alleged that India targeted “innocent civilians” and framed Pakistan’s military response as “self-defence.” Sharif further boasted that Pakistan’s air force shot down seven Indian jets, calling it a “stunning military success.”

However, India’s Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh refuted these claims, confirming that India had, in fact, shot down five Pakistani fighter jets and destroyed one Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft during the operation.

Sharif’s Remarks on Indus Water Treaty Draw Criticism

Sharif also criticized India’s decision to temporarily suspend the Indus Water Treaty following the Pahalgam attack, describing it as an “act of war.”

“India’s unilateral and illegal attempt to hold the Indus Water Treaty in abeyance defies the norms of international law,” Sharif stated.

India has clarified that the suspension was a measured response to Pakistan’s continued support for cross-border terrorism, not an act of aggression.

Accusations of ‘Hindutva-Driven Extremism’ Rejected

In an attempt to shift focus, Sharif accused India of promoting “Hindutva-driven extremism”, calling it a global threat to peace.

“Hate-driven ideology such as India’s Hindutva extremism poses danger to the world,” Sharif claimed, while once again raising the Kashmir issue, vowing Pakistan’s “eternal support” for the region.

India dismissed his comments as an effort to internationalize an internal matter, reiterating that Jammu and Kashmir remains an integral part of India.

India’s Firm Message: Stop Glorifying Terrorism

India’s reply was direct and uncompromising.

“Instead of peddling lies and theatrics, Pakistan should focus on shutting down terror camps and delivering justice to victims of terrorism,” Gahlot asserted.

New Delhi reaffirmed its stance that peace and dialogue are impossible as long as Pakistan continues to harbor and glorify terrorists.

Conclusion

While Shehbaz Sharif attempted to turn the UNGA into a platform for anti-India propaganda, his efforts backfired. India’s strong, fact-based rebuttal exposed Pakistan’s history of terror sponsorship and misinformation, leaving Sharif’s “victory” claims in diplomatic ruins.

India’s statement at the UNGA served as a clear reminder to the world that Pakistan cannot hide behind its lies any longer.
