Priyanka Gandhi Vadra acted as a protector during the clash been Congress workers and Uttar Pradesh cops at the Delhi-Noida Direct (DND) Flyover. The UP police stopped her and Rahul Gandhi on their way to Hathras. They were heading to Hathras to meet the Dalit woman’s family, who was gang-raped and killed last month.
In the visuals that were received, she was found hopping a small yellow barricade to shield a man as cops with lathis surround her.
The Congress leaders first attempted to visit Hathras on Thursday, but in vain. Cops said that they have orders to prevent large gatherings due to COVID-19.
Activists and opposition are demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath. Yogi tweeted in Hindi, “Those who even think of harming mothers and daughters in UP, their destruction is assured.”
