Shri Ram Vilas Paswan passes away

Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi shared his sorrow at the untimely death of Shri Ram Vilas Paswan, who was the Union Minister.

Owing to a thread of tweets, the Hon’ble Prime Minister stated that we are devastated beyond comprehension. There seems to be a gap in our country that can never be replaced. Shri Ram Vilas Paswan Ji’s death is a true tragedy. He also said that he lost a companion, a respected colleague, as well as someone who was immensely passionate about ensuring that every underprivileged person lived a life of decency.

Shri Ram Vilas Paswan Ji emerged in leadership via hard work and commitment. As a great leader, he defied a dictatorship and the attack on our independence even during the Emergency. He had been a distinguished member of parliament and politician, making a lasting impact in a variety of policy fields.

Working along, neck to neck with Paswan Ji, was an amazing place. His initiatives at committee hearings were informative. From political experienceto statesmanship, to governance problems, he was amazing. Deepest sympathies to his relatives and his friends. 

Ram Vilas Paswan who was the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution of the Union, died late on Thursday. He has recently experienced cardiac surgery in a facility in Delhi. Notifying regarding his dad’s passing, Leader Chirag Paswan of the LJP tweeted on Thursday. He’s had a heart problem for a long time, as per sources.

In his more than 5-decades-long career, Paswan worked as just a Union minister mostly under PMs, and his group was a constituent of all major alliances. 8th time as a Parliamentarian in Lower House, Paswan was among the most influential Dalit governments in the world. He was born on 5th July 1946 in the village of Shaharbanni in Khagaria, from East Bihar. He obtained a Master’s cum Law degree, underwent a Bihar Civil Service test, and was appointed as DSP. But he was not embracing the task. Instead of that, he entered politics.

He entered politics as a supporter of the SSP. In 1969, Paswan had become a participant of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. The subsequent year, he became the joint secretary for the Bihar division of the SSP. Throughout the year of 1974, he emerged Secretary-General including its Bihar division of the current Lok Dal after it had been established by the unification of the SSP as well as the other groups.
