On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on 16 October 2020, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will issue the Rs 75 commemorative coin to mark India’s long-standing alliance with FAO. The Prime Minister would also commit to Nation 17 newly produced 8-crop bio-fortified varieties.
The event marks the highest priority given to agriculture and nutrition by the government and is a testament to the commitment to fully eradicate poverty, undernutrition and malnutrition. It will be observed by the Anganwadis, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, the Organic and Horticultural Missions throughout the world. The Minister of Agriculture of the Union, the Minister of Finance and the Minister of the WCD will also be there.
To mark India’s long-standing alliance with the Food and Agriculture Organisation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will issue a commemorative coin of 75 denominations on the occasion of FAO’s 75th anniversary on 16 October.
Issuing a tweet, the Prime Minister’s Office said that PM Modi would also dedicate the 17 newly produced biofortified varieties of eight crops to the country.
