Bengaluru to get a command centre for executing Smart City project

Bengaluru will soon get a command centre that will work as the brain of the Smart City project and will handle the city’s disaster management. Bengaluru Smart City Ltd will fund this project which will approximately cost Rs 109 crore. The project will have a common helpline number, a mobile application, and a website for the citizens to lodge any complaint and for the authorities to regulate data-driven operations.

It is also reported that in the first phase BBMP, BESCOM, BMTC, BWSSB, Namma metro, and other government agencies will be brought under one platform which will monitor mobility of the departments, health, and solid waste management sectors. The project will also partly overlook vehicle management, staff attendance, and work allocation to them as well as the door-to-door collection of waste.

The project has received approval from the state government and the Election Commissioner.
