Flood-hit districts in North Karnataka express anger at district ministers’ indifference

The villagers and the citizens are expressing anger as the district ministers have not visited the flood-hit districts nor have taken any necessary steps for the affected people. Though chief minister BS Yediyurappa instructed the ministers to rush to the worst-hit districts and overlook the relief and rescue processes, none of them have yet visited and listened to the grievances of people.

Sources report that revenue minister R Ashoka visited Kalaburagi and Yadgir district but his tour received flak from the people of the villages as he spent only two hours before hurriedly leaving to catch a flight back to Bengaluru.

Deputy CM Govind Karjol who is in-charge of Kalaburagi and Bagalkot excused himself from visiting the districts stating that he is recovering from Covid-19, though he was reportedly seen in a party rally held in Sira for the upcoming by-poll. Former minister Priyank Kharge showed displeasure in Karjol’s act.
