Drug worth of Rs 20 lakh seized in Bengaluru

Amidst the investigation of drug-probe in the film fraternity, Bengaluru too joined in the process of crack-down on drug smuggling. On Wednesday, September 30th the airport authority at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru seized a leather bag consisting of 400gm of Methaqualone. The parcel was addressed to a Nigerian and the drug was worth 20 lakh in Indian money.

The convicted Nigerian was already arrested recently in connection to a case involving 1.98 kg Ecstasy pills.

The investigation in the drug-probe started from the Narcotics Control Bureauโ€™s (NCB) crackdown of the drug-circle of Bollywood connected to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajputโ€™s death investigation. Following this, the NCB also arrested three people for allegedly supplying drugs to Kannadaโ€™s film industry. Similarly, Bengaluru launched a drive in which the police arrested at least 15 people involved in drug-peddling, including actresses and party organisers.
