Developments on Covid-19 vaccines unveiled, supplies might start in first quarter of 2021

Drugmakers and medical research centres worldwide have been constantly working on producing the Covid-19 vaccine to put an end to the coronavirus pandemic that has claimed over a million lives. Large global trials of several vaccines are being conducted to test the efficacy of the vaccine as well as its side effects if any. Though some companies are yet to reveal their initial findings, other vaccines from Canada and Europe have reviewed early data and moved to the next stages of the trial.

The Union health ministry reported that while India’s Covid-19 case rose to 67.57 lakh, the country has reached the national recovery rate of 85.02 per cent on Wednesday. The health ministry also said that the supply of vaccines can be expected early next year. In an ANI report, it showed that Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories was directed to submit a revised protocol for performing phase 2 and 3 trials of the Russian vaccine, Sputnik V.
