After the UP government handed over the investigation of the Hathras case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the officers were looking for evidence in the hospital where the 19-year old Dalit girl was first taken. The CCTV footage from September 14, the day the victim was brought to the district hospital has not been backed up which led the CBI investigators to raise a question against the police officers and the administration who were supposed to collect the important CCTV footage as it plays a key role as a piece of evidence in the case.
Indra Veer Singh, who is the chief medical superintendent of the concerned hospital said that they are unable to provide the required piece of video a month later as the district administration as well as the cops had not asked for the CCTV footage earlier. He added that the footages get deleted after seven days.
