The Narcotics Control Bureau headquarters in Delhi have transferred a complaint of drug abuse by Bollywood stars to Mumbai for further investigations. The complaint is about an alleged drug party that was organised by Director and producer Karan Johar at his house in 2019 that had actors like Deepika Padukone, Vicky Kaushal and others as guests.
A leader of Shiromani Akali Dal, Manjinder Sirsha, had met the DG of Narcotics Control Bureau and launched an official complaint to be investigated against the said actors and directors of Bollywood. The news of the complaint being launched was confirmed by Shirsha himself.
Apparently, he had lodged the complaint regarding Karanโs house party back in 2019 with the Mumbai Police who had shown reluctance in carrying out any investigation against them. He has therefore re-lodged it with NCB.
The guests on the day of the alleged drug party included Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal. The complaint has been recorded and the investigation will be conducted under the alleged consumption, possession and allowing a premise to be used for commission of offences under the Chapter 4 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985.
The complaint has been filed on the basis of a video of the house party that had done the rounds on social media in 2019. Controversies had set in regarding the video back then which made Johar take to social media to claim that there had been no usage of drugs in the party that day.
