Air Marshal Sadhna S Nair of the Indian Air Force’s medical branch achieved a significant milestone by becoming the second woman officer in this branch to be promoted to the prestigious rank of Air Marshal.

Air Marshal Nair’s promotion ceremony was graced by officers from the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services and her close family members. Her husband, Air Marshal KP Nair (retd.), is also a retired Air Marshal.

Air Marshal Padma Bandopadhyay was the first woman in the medical branch of the IAF to be promoted to Air Marshal, paving the way for more women to achieve such distinguished positions.
Career Progression
Before her promotion, Air Marshal Nair served as the Principal Medical Officer (PMO) at HQ Training Command, IAF, at the rank of Air Vice Marshal. She now holds the role of Director General of Hospital Services, Armed Forces.
