The Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated railway projects totalling to Rs. 2700 crores. It was a digital event where the Kosi Rail Mega Bridge Project was amounting to Rs. 516 crore. Mithila and Kosi’s distance is said to be reduced from 298 km to 22 km after 86 years. Twelve more rail projects apart from this also were inaugurated.

The issue about the New farmer’s Bill and its effects on the farmer’s produce traded at lower prices, thus being a significant disadvantage to the farmers, was asked as a query of concern during the event.

He reverted by inculpating that the allegations were baseless misinformation spread by the Middlemen who would be disadvantaged by the Bill. The Bill, constructed in such a manner that the middlemen in the agricultural products’ trade become eliminated.

The farmers are said to be aware of the Bill and its implications. He also shared an anecdotal remark stating that the protesters made uncorroborated claims about Minimum Support Price (MSP) that they were unfulfilled for the farmers’ benefit, but the NDA government had already performed. He had requested the farmers not to pay heed to these false accusations.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Kalyan Yojna had provided Rs. 1 lakh crore directly deposited to 10 crore farmers. The Lok Sabha has nodded to the Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.

Shiromani Akali Dal leader and its lone representative in the Union Cabinet, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, quit over the Bills passed by the government. These Bills will help in opening new doors for farmers from getting a market for their products to acquiring the latest technology for their farming requirements.
