A meet to analyze and take preventive measures

The chief ministers and health ministers of Punjab, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and TamilNadu had an interaction with the Prime Minister to assess and review the prevalent conditions of the COVID-19 sitch.

These states are taken into deep consideration as they account for sixty three percent of the active cases, more than sixty five percent of the total cases and seventy seven percent of deaths in the country.

The State Disaster Response Fund usage limit has been bumped up from thirty five percent to fifty percent. The Prime Minister also made special emphasis on containment zones and the testing procedures and aftermath.

The increase in the limit enables the states to get more and proper funding to weaken the financial impact due to the COVID-19 situation. He had also emphasised on bringing on the culture of wearing masks.

If all the states work together, the situation can be brought under control in no time, added the Prime Minister.
