Amidst the investigation of drug-probe in the film fraternity, Bengaluru too joined in the process of crack-down on drug smuggling. On Wednesday, September 30th the airport authority at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru seized a leather bag consisting of 400gm of Methaqualone. The parcel was addressed to a Nigerian and the drug was worth 20 lakh in Indian money.
The convicted Nigerian was already arrested recently in connection to a case involving 1.98 kg Ecstasy pills.
The investigation in the drug-probe started from the Narcotics Control Bureauโs (NCB) crackdown of the drug-circle of Bollywood connected to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajputโs death investigation. Following this, the NCB also arrested three people for allegedly supplying drugs to Kannadaโs film industry. Similarly, Bengaluru launched a drive in which the police arrested at least 15 people involved in drug-peddling, including actresses and party organisers.
