KPCC president DK Shivakumar may get arrested by CBI

The Central Bureau of Investigation has raided the house of DK Shivakumar, the president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), and charged a case of allegedly possessing disproportionate assets against him.

CBI’s case reads that the former Minister of Karnataka Government and presently MLA has disproportionate assets of approximately Rs. 74.93 crore under his name and the name of his family members. Initially, the leader was arrested for the same case on September 3, 2019, by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) which led him to stay in Tihar jail for 48 days before getting bail.

On Monday morning, October 5, the houses of Shivakumar, his brother Bengaluru rural MP DK Suresh and Shivakumar’s ancestral home were simultaneously raided by a team of officials from Bengaluru, Chennai, and Delhi. Raids were also conducted in the houses of business associates and relatives of the leader in Hassan and Mysuru.
