Safety from COVID- A People’s Movement

The Minister of Health & Family Welfare of the Union, Dr Harsh Vardhan, held a teleconferencing meeting with the leaders of all AIIMS including Central Government Institutions today to discuss the operations of the “Jan Andolan” on COVID Acceptable Actions.

Emphasising the significance of the following days in the nation’s collective battle against the disease outbreak, Dr Harsh Vardhan said, “We are now approaching the tenth month of our battle against COVID-19. It was on the 8th day of January that we had our first conference on the expert panel.

Since then, the journey has become tireless. But currently, we can confidently claim that we have set up a substantial infrastructure for our battle against COVID, which involves upwards of 90 lakh beds, upwards of 12,000 quarantine centres and therefore more than 1,900 laboratories. “He expressed profound gratitude and admiration for the tireless and devoted efforts of all fighters and expressed sorrow at the demise of such warriors who lost their lives to save others.”

In view of the re-opening of economic operations in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, an intense ‘Jan Andolan’ has been initiated to increase consciousness among people about virus prevention initiatives, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said on Tuesday.

During a joint press briefing with the Ministry of Health and Niti Aayog, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Secretary Amit Khare said that in its 1st week of the inauguration, the “Jan Andolan” movement garnered 2.33 billion impacts and was launched on Twitter with a hashtag ‘Unite2fightCorona.’

He said that the winter season and religious and other festivals are coming, and the economy is opening up, so precautions were necessary. He informed that the cold weather and spiritual and other festivals are coming, and the economy is setting new, so measures were necessary.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
