The metro cities of India act as a prime destination for several contrabands. The national central bank in synchronised operations in Mumbai and its links with the rest of India has carried out various seizures and arrests which have an impact on the narcotics supply chain.

NCB is undertaking massive operations toward drug smugglers. In the furtherance of operational activities against drug trafficking, NCB has been currently conducting raids on probable safe houses of drug traffickers, after identifying their modus operandi location information.

On Thursday, in the centrepiece of the case of the late actor named Sushant Singh Rajput, the NCB released a statement stating that its latest operations have shown that Mumbai-the city of dreams had “identified as a prominent destination” for drugs. It cited several operations, such as the detention of a former peon of Balaji Telefilms, to bring home its case.

The national central bank has been investigating the drug angle in the death of the Bollywood star and is the only body that has made several arrests, including that of Rajput’s friend Rhea Chakraborty.

Citing seizures of 1 kg of cocaine, 2 kg of phencyclidine and 29 kg of MDA, among other narcotics from Mumbai between 12 and 14 October, and the relation of some other operations with the city, the national central bank—now headed by Gujarat IPS officer Rakesh Asthana, who is also the BSF chief—said that it had “made several pan-India operations in which Mumbai emerged as the main target.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
